New survey results from Rasmussen Reports indicate that just over one third of Americans were satisfied with mass media coverage of the 2024 Election.
“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 36% of Likely U.S. Voters believe most of the major news media did a good or excellent job in covering this year’s presidential election campaign. Thirty-nine percent (39%) give the media a poor rating for their campaign coverage.”
Other notable results from the survey include:
- 54% of Democrats rated the media as doing a good or excellent job in covering the 2024 presidential election campaign
- 25% of Republicans and 27% of voters not affiliated with either major party rated the media as doing a good or excellent job.
- 55% of Republicans rated the media’s campaign coverage as poor, as did 43% of unaffiliated voters and 20% of Democrats.
- 70% of Republican voters believe that, in general, political coverage in the news media is biased in favor of Democrats.
- 41% of Democrats think the news media are mostly fair in terms of their political coverage, but just 10% of Republicans and 26% of unaffiliated voters agree.
