Pro-Life Advocates Plan Rally Outside Florida Supreme Court During Abortion Amendment Hearing

Earlier today, Florida Voice for the Unborn Executive Director Andrew Shirvell issued the following statement regarding the Florida Supreme Court’s upcoming hearing on ballot amendment regarding abortion.

“Florida Voice for the Unborn will be holding a Pro-Life Rally and Press Conference on the front steps of the Florida Supreme Court building on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. The rally will take place from 9 a.m. – ~10 a.m., at the exact hour that the Florida Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on whether to disqualify the abortion industry’s misleading pro-abortion constitutional amendment from appearing on the November 2024 General Election ballot. The purpose of the Rally is to encourage and pray for Attorney General Ashley Moody’s legal team and our conservative justices at the most crucial hour in this vital case.”

Shirvell continued, “The keynote speaker for the Rally is Frank Pavone, the founder and longtime passionate leader of the national pro-life organization Priests for Life, which is based in Titusville. Mr. Pavone has served as a religious advisor to President Donald Trump. In 2022, the Vatican retaliated against Mr. Pavone for his outspoken pro-life advocacy by removing him from the priesthood – a move that the vast majority of practicing lay Catholics found to be outrageous and unfair. Despite the Vatican’s persecution, Mr. Pavone maintains wide support within the pro-life movement among Catholics and non-Catholics alike.” Shirvell further remarked, “Other confirmed speakers for the Rally include pro-life champion Rep. Webster Barnaby (R–District 29, Volusia County) and Students for Life of America’s Florida Regional Coordinator, Kristen Wayne.
