Inside Radio also list some of the top and the fastest growing formats Americans are listening to.

“Radio ranks at the most trusted medium among adult women,” said the publication.

When it came to consumer purchases, more women listened and trusted radio.

A national survey of 600 adults showed 83% of women age 18 and older say they consider radio to be either “very trustworthy” or “trustworthy.”

The number is the highest percentage than any other media. Radio was given higher marks compared to newspapers (79%), television (74%), podcasts (70%), magazines (69%), and social media (48%).

Another format gaining more listeners is Contemporary Christian.

They’re not the largest but over the last 3 years, numbers show they are attracting an increasing market share, especially among ages 25-54 and ages 18-34.

And it’s more than just the music people are tuning into. Radio stations are noting audiences are listening to religious teachings as well. Some of the stations are branded as “Teach and Talk.”

Inside Radio says another radio format gaining increase in listeners is Spanish-language. In stations with 27.

But the ratings show that NewsTalk radio is the king of where most Americans tune in to get the information overall.
