Recent Polling Shows Rick Scott Beating Mucarsel-Powell

A series of September polling data shows Florida Senator Rick Scott outperforming his Democratic opponent, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, for the Senate seat.

National polling company 538 compiles the averages of the polls taken to show who is in the lead, and each poll shows Senator Scott with the lead.

  • On September 8th, a Morning Consult survey 8, had Scott with a 5-point lead 47%-42% lead over Mucarsel-Powell.
  • September 9tha poll from Redfield & Wilton Strategies for The Telegraph, showed Scott over Mucarsel-Powell 44%-41%.
  • September 18th had another poll from Morning Consult showed Scott over Mucarsel-Powell by 4 points, 46%-42%.
  • September 19, another Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll for The Telegraph had Senator Scoot up by 4 points over Mucarsel-Powell, 45%-41%.
  • A brand-new poll out this past Sunday September 22 by ActiVote showed Senator Scott lead has increased his lead over Mucarsel-Powell by around 8 points, 54%-46%.

ActiVote numbers show solid support among democratic groups for Mucarsel-Powell among urban voters, Black and Latino voters. Powell is tied with Scott when it comes to younger voters from ages 18-49 and among women.

“If Senator Scott is tied with his opponent among younger voters and women, that’s not a good sign for the democrats,” said Talk Radio host and election analyst Matt Caldwell.

These numbers show that the Scott campaign is polling higher than Trump regarding certain female voters.

Another area where Scott is outperforming Trump and other GOP candidates is with Independents. The ActiVote survey found Scott’s approval numbers over Mucarsel-Powell was 52%-48%.

The latest poll’s methodology involved 400 likely voters, and the sample included 40% Republicans, 34% Democrats, and 26% independents.
