The Orlando Business Journal (OBJ) recently reported 20 development projects worth a total of $1.45 billion are slated for Downtown Orlando.
The projects include:
- 4,258 residential units
- 556 hotel rooms
- 136,162 square feet of retail space
- 321,045 square feet of office space
The OBJ tracked several of the developments tied to its Future of Cities publication, which includes the $85 million Society Orlando that will add 462 apartmentsand 32,000 square feet of retail space when it opens this year.
According to OBJ, construction in downtown Orlando is up compared to the end of 2022, when there were six projects worth $480.8 million underway.
Downtown Orlando’s population has grown from 13,574 in 2010 to 21,357 in 2023, according to the U.S. Census, and is expected to grow to 23,540 by 2028, according to the city.
