Since February, House Republicans have been working to repeal many regulations adopted by the Biden administration.
Instead of passing legislation, Republicans have utilized the Congressional Review Act. This act permits them to use a special legislative tool, allowing them to bypass a filibuster with a simple majority vote.
Currently, around 75 resolutions have been brought up to overturn Biden regulations.
Overturning federal rules from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, and the Department of the Interior.
For example. Ending regulations on commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers under the agency’s Energy Conservation Program, the regulation aimed to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
Ending energy standards on gas-fired water heaters. Ending regulations on walk-in coolers and freezers. Ending IRS mandates that classify some decentralized digital asset entities as brokers, subject to reporting rules.
Stopping the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from enforcing rules that would have limited large banks’ ability to charge clients for overdrawing their bank accounts.
Eliminating an Environmental Protection Agency rule for hazardous air pollutants from rubber tire facilities.
Halting a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule on the regulation of digital wallets that repeals a mandate supervising large nonbank companies that offer digital wallets or payment apps.
Ending regulations in favor of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules on hydrogen vehicles.
And stopping the Federal Communications Commission from allowing E-Rate funds to subsidize off-campus use of Wi-Fi hotspots.
