Rick Scott Co-Introduces Bill to Block Natural Gas Tax, Boost Energy Production

Florida Senator Rick Scott joined Senator John Hoeven and Congressman August Pfluger to introduce a bicameral Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution of disapproval to block implementation of the Biden administration’s natural gas tax. The bill osponsored by Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R – WV), Mike Lee (R-UT), James Lankford (R-OK), Katie Britt (R-AL), Steve Daines (R-MT), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) and James Risch (R-ND), as well as Congressman Jodey Arrington (R-TX) in the House of Representatives.

“It’s time Washington focused on what the American people want: unleashing American energy, growing our economy and ending the woke agenda,” Scott said. “As President Trump prepares to take office, we must do everything possible to undo Biden’s disastrous policies that have hurt American businesses and families. I’m proud to join my colleagues in leading this commonsense CRA to block the natural gas tax.”

Natural gas tax was included in the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022. The full text of the legislation can be found here.
