Florida Senator Rick Scott joined colleagues in announcing the reintroduction of the Falun Gong Protection Act. This legislation seeks to impose sanctions on individuals responsible for or complicit with Forced Organ Harvesting, especially those targeting Falun Gong practitioners. This bill also requires the Secretary of State to report to Congress on organ transplant policies and practices of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and prohibits U.S. collaboration with the CCP on organ transplants while China’s evil regime remains in power.
Senators Ted Cruz, Roger Marshall, Ron Johnson, Mike Rounds and Thom Tillis are cosponsors in the Senate. Congressman Scott Perry is leading the companion legislation in the House of Representatives.
“The Chinese Communist Party is one of the worst human rights abusers in the world, made clear by its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and forced removal of organs,” Scott said. “The United States and every freedom-loving nation must take a stand and demand accountability for those responsible for this religious persecution and forced organ harvesting, and work to put an end to Communist China’s blatant human rights violations. I’m proud to join my colleagues on this legislation as a critical call to action against the Communist Chinese regime.”
Sen. Cruz condemned China’s attack on religious rights.
“China’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is an attack on religious freedom and human rights,” Cruz said. It’s long past time to dismantle the CCP’s state-sponsored organ harvesting industry. I urge my colleagues to join me in countering these human rights violations and ensuring the CCP is held accountable.”
