Ron DeSantis Calls for Special Legislative Session on Illegal Immigration & Condo Crisis

Earlier today, Governor Ron DeSantis called for a special session of state legislators to assist the incoming Trump administration’s plans to combat illegal immigration.

We don’t have time to waste,” DeSantis said at a press conference Monday. “The American people spoke very clearly.” DeSantis said he wanted to call the special session the week of Jan. 27. DeSantis also wants action to address the condo crisis in the state. Condo owners are worried about rising assessments that have become necessary in order to follow new safety guidelines.

“We will allocate resources and ensure state and local officials in Florida are supporting these efforts,” DeSantis said. “While we are in special session, we should also address key issues facing our state: ballot initiative integrity, disaster relief, and condominium regulations.”
