Ron DeSantis: Florida’s Already Gotten More than $4.1 Billion in Federal Stimulus Funds

“The $4.1 billion in federal funds received through the CARES Act will help ensure Florida secures critical resources as we continue this fight,” said DeSantis.

At the end of last week, Gov. Ron DeSantis said that the Sunshine State has already received more than $4.1 billion in stimulus funds from the federal government.

Last month, the White House and Congress agreed on the “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act,” a $2.2 trillion federal stimulus package to help the nation during the coronavirus pandemic.  DeSantis said on Friday that the state has already gotten $4.1 billion in those funds which “reflect 50 percent of Florida’s total allocation under the CARES Act, with an additional disbursement of funds pursuant to the CARES Act later this month.”

“The $4.1 billion in federal funds received through the CARES Act will help ensure Florida secures critical resources as we continue this fight,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis offered his ally President Donald Trump a tip of the cap for the funds.

“We thank President Trump for this much-needed support and look forward to our continued work to defeat COVID-19 and emerge stronger than before,” DeSantis added.
