In Edgewater on Monday, the Brunswick Boating Group announced the grand opening of its new technology center with elected officials in attendance.
Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., joined Brunswick Boating Group Technology Center Vice President Lenn Schulz for the event.
DeSantis used the occasion to praise the Brunswick Boating Group and showcase Florida’s business climate.
“Today, we are here to celebrate a tremendous investment by one of the leading names in marine and boating innovation,” said DeSantis. “Brunswick Boating Group’s opening of this new technology center means a great deal not only to the Edgewater community and Volusia County, but to the entire state. Our low taxes, top rated public university system and strong economic climate will continue to attract businesses to relocate to and expand in Florida.”
The governor’s office also highlighted the company as it continues to grow.
“Brunswick Boating Group was formed in 2000 as a division of Brunswick Corporation to manage nearly 45 boat brands. The recreational boating industry in Florida generates an annual economic impact of more than $20 billion and supports more than 90,000 jobs. This new technology center builds on that impact and is projected to create more than 160 jobs and develop the future of marine technology,” the governor’s office noted.
