Rubio Submits Bill to Protect Taxpayer Dollars from Funding Terrorism Through United Nations Mismanagement

Florida Senator Marco Rubio, (R) released the following statement about a new bill he submitted to stop dollars from going to the United Nations.

“Until there is certainty that taxpayer dollars, allocated to the United Nations (UN), does not end up in the hands of the Taliban, or other designated terrorist organizations, and that U.S. sanctions are not being evaded through cash shipments, our nation should withhold UN contributions.

The Stop Funding Global Terrorists Act to ensure the U.S. Secretary of State remains diligent in tracking the final destination of UN funding provided by the United States.

  • “American taxpayer dollars should not benefit terrorist organizations, like the Taliban. Unfortunately, we are seeing this scenario play out today, in real time. Until we can be sure, we should withhold contributions to the UN.” – Senator Rubio
