Statewide Prosecutors Secure 40-Count Child Pornography Conviction in Lehigh Acres

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that the Office of Statewide Prosecution has secured the conviction of a Lehigh Acres man on 40 felony counts of child pornography possession.

A Lee County jury found Phuc Minh Tran, 38, guilty on all charges following a week-long trial. Prosecutors said the case began in August 2024, when Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents executed a search warrant at Tran’s home after FDLE’s cyber unit identified downloads of known child sexual abuse material linked to his residence. Tran was arrested at the scene.

Uthmeier credited the work of Deputy Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Julie Chaikin and Senior Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Agnieszka Thomas, saying the verdict ensures “this predator is facing decades behind bars, which is right where he belongs.”

Tran is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 22. Because each count carries a potential 15-year sentence, he faces a maximum of 600 years in state prison.
