Student ‘Safe Spaces’ Returning to College Campuses After Trump’s Inauguration

Several universities throughout the country are promising to “protect” students from the Trump administration’s battle against liberal policies.

The College Fix, which monitors these types of activities promoted by colleges, reports that various educational institutions and student groups are offering ways to deal with the “anxiety” surrounding Trump’s second term.

Here is a list of schools that have announced they will “guard” students from the Trump agenda.

The University of Illinois Chicago chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine announced a demonstration in the Windy City to “Stop the Trump Agenda,” which featured “80 organizations to fight back against Trump’s racist and reactionary program.”

Participating groups included the Chicago Educators for Palestine, Mexican Students de Aztlán, Healthcare Workers for Palestine, and Make Noize for Change.

One of the titles of their protest is “Oppose the Trump agenda and Stand with Palestine against the US war machine.”

Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health advised students of the incoming Trump presidency and how the “mental health and “Living with Anxiety During Presidential Transitions” which notes “For some, a second Trump administration is stirring up fear and anxiety” due to promises of “mass deportations” and “limiting access to gender-affirming care.”

”Some of those people may be feeling very acutely scared or worried right now about some of the potential policy changes with the upcoming administration,” Emory health professor Rachel Waford said.

The College Fix points out that the other schools in the “political correctness mix” are USC, Harvard, Penn State, and MIT and reports the University of California has set up a resource page for undocumented students and said it welcomed students ‘regardless of immigration status.”

One California school district told students who are illegal immigrants that the school would not allow law enforcement entities to take any type of immigration action against their students or their families within our care.
