SunRail to Host Tours of New Station Coming to DeLand

Central Florida’s commuter railway has scheduled two days for tours of a station that will open soon in DeLand. Below is a press release from Sunrail with details about the two upcoming days for tours of the DeLand Sunrail Station.

DELAND, Fla. – In preparation for the DeLand SunRail Station opening, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is excited to host two Train Tour events designed to provide local residents with an engaging and informative experience about the rail system’s benefits.

Event Details:

  • Dates: Saturday, July 27, 2024 and Saturday, August 3, 2024
  • Time: 9 a.m. – Noon
  • Location: DeLand SunRail Station, 2491 Old New York Avenue, DeLand, FL 32720

Residents of DeLand and neighboring communities are invited to attend these free events, where they can explore the soon-to-be completed station and tour the parked SunRail trains. The events aim to answer attendees’ questions and demonstrate how SunRail can enhance daily commuting and travel.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for people of the DeLand area to tour the trains, get answers to their questions, and understand how SunRail can make their lives easier,” said David Cooke, the District Five Rail Administration Manager for the FDOT.

For those wishing to attend, select either date and arrive anytime during the event window. SunRail staff members will be available to assist and direct those in attendance. The events and parking are free.
