Taxpayer Dollars Wasted on Biden-Linked Front Groups Promoted in Florida

A federal appeals court says the EPA under the Trump administration can eliminate $20 billion in climate grants that were doled out to “front groups” to promote the Biden green energy movement.

After the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in 2022, Democrats and the Biden Administration praised the IRA as the single largest investment in climate and energy in American history.

To campaign on their efforts, the Biden administration targeted states like Florida and swing districts, funding billions of tax dollars through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. Some of these organizations were the Climate United Fund, Coalition for Green Capital, and Power Forward Communities.

The groups ascended into states like Florida, touting the need to combat “environmental racism.” Another initiative, called the “Climate Corps,” was designed to target smaller communities, offering tax rebates to Florida homeowners who installed solar panels on their roofs.

Now from the court ruling, the EPA will end contracts for these nonprofits.

“They call it the Green New Deal, but it’s more like the Green New scam,” says Junk Science founder and Senior Fellow at the Energy & Environment Legal Institute, Steve Milloy.

Milloy, a former Trump EPA transition team member, said it may take some time to undo the items passed in the IRA bill back in 2022.

States like Florida are set to receive billions that will increase manufacturing for items such as solar panels. But Milloy says this will cost more for consumers and the taxpayers over $1 trillion.

During the campaign, President Donald Trump pledged he would terminate the “Green New Scam.” Milloy and others are encouraging Congress to help him do so by repealing every subsidy of the Inflation Reduction Act, which will cost Americans more than a trillion dollars.

“We need to stop cutting checks for fraudulent activity,’ said Milloy.
