The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has listed which jobs pay over $100K a year. Just one problem. Some of these jobs get overlooked,
Digital marketing firm Click Intelligence just compiled a list of high-paying careers that go largely unnoticed by people looking for work.
Here’s a look at the 10 most underrated jobs that pay over $100K:
1. Financial Risk Specialist. Annual mean salary: $124.4K. These professionals work at banks, insurance companies, and investment firms, assessing financial threats and helping organizations avoid costly mistakes. The field employs nearly 64K people across the US.
2. First-Line Supervisor of Police and Detectives
First-line supervisors of police earn $112K a year. That low number is surprising given how many openings are actually out there. For anyone already in law enforcement, moving into a supervisory position is also a quicker way to reach a six-figure salary.
3. Social Sciences Teacher (Postsecondary)
Social sciences is one of the biggest fields in America, as over 118K people work as social science teachers across American colleges right now. One reason could be that most people assume academic careers do not pay well, but social sciences teachers actually average over $100K a year.
4. Training and Development Manager
Training and development managers are one of the best-paid workers in the US. They earn up to $150K a year. These professionals design and run employee learning programs inside companies, a role that has grown as businesses invest more in keeping their staff.
5. Fundraising Manager
Fundraising managers earn an average salary of $140K a year. This type of work includes working as donor relations managers for nonprofits, universities, and hospitals.
“These jobs pay well, but barely anyone is going after them, simply because most people have never heard of them,” said James Owen, co-founder of Click Intelligence.
