GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida (UF) posted strong gains across multiple disciplines in the latest graduate school rankings released by U.S. News & World Report, with its College of Education reaching a historic high.
According to an official news release provided by UF media specialist Brittany Sylvestri, UF’s College of Education climbed to No. 2 nationally — its highest ranking ever — and placed six specialty programs among the top 20 in the country.
Other programs also maintained elite national standing. UF’s College of Pharmacy ranked No. 4, while the College of Veterinary Medicine came in at No. 6, continuing their long-established presence among the nation’s top programs.
UF’s College of Medicine earned a Tier 1 designation for research, placing it among the country’s leading medical schools. Additional colleges receiving national recognition include the Warrington College of Business, Levin College of Law, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, the College of Public Health and Health Professions, and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.
“These rankings reflect the University of Florida’s continued momentum as we strengthen graduate education across disciplines,” said Joe Glover, UF’s interim provost. “Our colleges are advancing research, preparing future leaders and delivering real-world impact in Florida and beyond.”
Several graduate programs ranked in the top 10 nationally, including student counseling (No. 2), tax law (No. 3), special education (No. 5), biological and agricultural engineering (No. 6), real estate (No. 8), and occupational therapy (No. 8).
A number of additional programs placed within the top 20, including elementary teacher education (No. 12), nuclear engineering (No. 13), accounting (No. 16), physical therapy (No. 16), curriculum and instruction (No. 17), and multiple programs tied at No. 19, such as educational administration, higher education administration, and health care management.
The latest rankings build on UF’s broader national standing. The university is currently ranked No. 7 among public universities by U.S. News & World Report and reported $1.33 billion in research expenditures last year, highlighting its continued investment in innovation and academic growth.
UF also remains a leader in online education, with its online bachelor’s degree program ranked No. 1 nationally in the most recent Best Online Programs rankings.
