Which Florida Sports Teams Have the Highest Ticket Demand?

The sports betting website Thelines.com analyzed Google search data over the last 12 months for all 125 Major League sports teams in the U.S. to find out which people were most desperate to see.

And for Floridians, the Miami Dolphins are topping the leaderboard.

1. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have an average of 203,576 searches per month. Established in 1965, the Miami Dolphins are a football team based in Florida and are the oldest sports team in the state. In 1972, the Dolphins achieved a perfect season, winning all 17 games including the Super Bowl, the only team to do so in NFL history.

2. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have an average of 184,709 searches per month. The Miami Heat are a basketball team based in Florida. They compete in the NBA as a member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. With 27 straight wins in the 2012-13 season, the team holds the third-longest winning streak in NBA history.

3. Tampa Bay Rays

Despite low in-game attendance averages, the Tampa Bay Rays have a monthly average of 172,338 searches. Based in Florida, the Tampa Bay Rays are a baseball team that competes in MLB as a member club of the American League East Division, which includes the world-famous New York Yankees. Although they have yet to win a World Series, the team has won two AL pennants and four AL East Division titles.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers average 142,751 searches per month. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a football team that plays in the NFL as a member of the league’s National Football Conference South division. They have won two Super Bowl titles, most recently in 2020.

5. Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have an average of 103,653 searches per month. Based in Miami, the Florida Panthers are an ice hockey team and compete in the NHL as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. They won their first-ever Stanley Cup earlier this year by beating the Edmonton Oilers to claim victory.
