Earlier today, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody was appointed to serve as US Senator in the seat vacated by Marco Rubio, who is expected to be sworn in as the next US Secretary of State.
Moody is expected to be sworn into office on Jan. 20. As an interim US Senator, Moody will have to run for election in 2026.
