$1 Billion from Federal Education Funds Spent on DEI Programs

Parents Defending Education (PDE) has just released a report detailing how the Biden administration used a billion dollars of education money to promote (DEI) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs inside the classroom over the past 4 years.

When Biden came in 2021 and signed an executive order to promote DEI initiatives, PDE says the Federal Dept of Education gave out 229 grants in 42 states.

The PDE report shows around $490 million were spent on race-based hiring, $343 million on generic DEI programs, $169 million on DEI-based mental health training and programming.

PDE is hopeful that the new DOGE Commission and the Department of Government Efficiency will root out these liberal incentives and cut back the bureaucracy.

North Florida Congressman Republican Aaron Bean will be one of these individuals in charge of the House looking to eliminate all of the DEI programs placed by the Biden White House and other areas looking to eliminate waste.

Bean said it was time to implement some real education reforms once Biden is gone.

It’s time to fight against indoctrination in the classroom and promote merit over corrupt DEI inefficiencies in the American school system,” said PDE.

In their report, the group listed several items where the Education Department awarded huge amounts of dollars for DEI grants to school districts. PDE said Biden gave over $67 million through magnet school programs and fostering diverse school grants.

“The Biden administration has been “incentivizing” far-left ideologies in US schools rather than “rigorous, proven methods of instruction,” to the detriment of students,” says PDE.

Congressman Bean and others on the DOGE commission said the only groups that are directly benefiting from DEI programs are universities, administrators, and DEI consultants.
