2026 Poll On Casey DeSantis for Governor and Florida U.S. Senate Race

A new survey by Florida Atlantic University (FAU) shows in a hypothetical matchup for the 2026 Florida Governor’s race in a GOP primary, 43% said they would support Casey DeSantis.  than 19% prefer U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds received 19% followed by state CFO Jimmy Patronis and Florida Congressman Rep. Matt Gaetz, trail further behind.

Earlier this year, the governor said his wife would not run for the position in 2026.

The FAU poll also showed the race for the U.S Senate seat is narrowing. Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell trails the incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, 45 to 43 percent. Democrats feel pumped by the Fau poll because in April of this year, Scott was leading Mucarsel-Powell by 17 points.

Over the last few weeks, democrats have been raving about the recent polls on this Senate race and the presidential race in Florida, where a Fox News poll showed President Joe Biden only down by four points to former President Donald Trump.

Florida voters told pollsters their top issues were the economy (38%), immigration (25%), abortion (15%), and crime (6%).

“While both parties are concerned with the economy, priorities diverge sharply after that issue, with Republicans laser-focused on immigration while Democrats pointing to abortion as a leading concern,” said the FAU poll.

“I expect these numbers to fluctuate throughout the summer and into the fall election, said Political analyst Barney Bishop. You will see the polls tighten and maybe even widen as we get closer to November.’
