At the end of last week, U.S. Rep. Darren Soto, D-Fla., launched a “Valentines for Vets” initiative.

The new program will have the congressman’s office encourage elementary school students from all around his district to write Valentine’s Day cards for veterans. The cards will be hand-delivered by Soto on Valentine’s Day to the Lake Nona VA Medical Center.

“I am excited to announce my first ever Valentines for Vets program,” said Soto on Friday. “This Valentine’s Day, our veterans deserve to receive love and gratitude for their lifelong service and dedication to our country. This is just a small but impactful way that we can reach our former service members and let them know how thankful we truly are.”

To participate in “Valentines for Vets”, please drop off or mail the cards to the District Office. Congressman Soto’s office will be collecting cards until February 10th. Rep. Soto’s office is located at 804 Bryan Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
