The Florida delegation will meet on Thursday on Capitol Hill to “discuss some of the most pressing agriculture issues affecting the Sunshine State with a special focus on the upcoming 2023 Farm Bill.”
U.S. Reps. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., who lead the Florida delegation, announced the meeting this week and stressed the important role agriculture plays in the Sunshine State.
“Agriculture is critical to Florida, supporting an estimated 2.1 million jobs,” said Buchanan. “The congressional delegation is committed to supporting this vital industry to our state’s economy. Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz and I look forward to welcoming our witnesses to Capitol Hill so the delegation can learn more about how we can ensure Florida’s agriculture sector continues to thrive.”

Dr. Scott Angle – Senior Vice President, the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences
Mike Risola – Director of Federal Affairs, Florida Department of Agriculture
Susan King – Board Chair of Feeding Florida and CEO of Feeding Northeast Florida
