Biden Asks Congress to Pass Emergency Aid After Hurricane Milton

In response to Hurricane Milton’s impact on Florida, President Joe Biden asked US Congress to return to session in order to pass emergency relief funding.

“I think the Congress should be coming back and moving on emergency needs immediately,” Biden was quoted in a Bloomberg story.

Prior to Milton’s landfall, Florida’s U.S. Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott sent a letter to Biden urging his immediate approval of the State of Florida’s request for a pre-landfall emergency declaration for 51 of Florida’s counties.
