The University of Florida’s Herbert Wertheim School of Classical and Civic Education, commonly known as the Hamilton School, has expanded its faculty with 20 new hires as it transitions from an academic center to a formal school within the university
- Madeleine Armstrong, an expert on Enlightenment political thought, with past experience at Princeton and Oxford.
Jeremy Bailey, a scholar of American political thought and constitutional history, formerly at the University of Oklahoma.
Stephen Buono, who focuses on international relations and the history of spaceflight, previously at the University of Chicago.
Cole Bunzel, a historian of the Middle East and Islamic thought, currently a fellow at Stanford University.
The full group includes specialists in economic history, political theory, international security, literature, and constitutional debates.
New faculty members will begin teaching between fall 2025 and the 2026–2027 academic year. With these appointments, the Hamilton School aims to expand its curriculum and research in classical education and civic studies. t
