The Figgers Foundation announced a new initiative that provides eligible Floridians with free devices, 3 years of internet service, and 4G LTE cell service. Devices are limited, and early applications are strongly encouraged, especially as families look for support and connection during the holiday season.
Residents in 18 Florida counties can apply for a free device through Florida Connect.
Florida Connect devices will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited quantities available. The program aims to deliver technology directly to communities that may experience limited connectivity.
Florida Connect Eligible Counties:
Tallahassee Area: Gadsden, Jefferson, Madison, and Taylor Counties
Gainesville Area: Lafayette, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy, Putnam, Bradford, and Union Counties
Jacksonville Area: Hamilton County
Tampa Area: Hardee and Highlands Counties
Southwest Florida: DeSoto, Glades, and Hendry Counties
Palm Beach area: Okeechobee County
Freddie Figgers said, “Christmas is a time for helping our neighbors, and that’s why I’m excited for our Foundation to be part of the Florida Connect program. This is a cost-free program for eligible Floridians, and I hope we have many families checking our website to see if they are eligible today. If these devices help one child with school or help one parent find a job, then this program is hitting the target. Our mission is to support those families most in need – especially during the holidays,” said Figgers.
