Uber Announces Fuel Savings For Their Drivers

In the wake of rising gas prices, Uber is taking steps to ease the financial strain on their drivers and couriers in the United States. Through May 26, Uber’s initiative will expand fuel discounts and incentives to its drivers through the Upside app.

Drivers will now be eligible to save up to $1 per gallon and up to 21 cents per gallon through Shell Fuel Rewards, with savings varying by Uber Pro Tier.

Drivers using the Uber Pro Card can also receive an additional 5% cash back when refueling, with top-tier drivers eligible for up to 15% cash back at the pump. Uber’s delivery drivers will be able to take advantage of weekly mileage-based payments, with payments beginning at $5 after 125 miles and increasing to $15 after 250 miles on active deliveries. Uber has also launched Uber Golf this spring, designed to help golfers and their groups get to and from the course with their clubs. By selecting the Uber Golf tab in the app, golfers can book an UberX for up to 2 guests and their golf clubs, or an UberXL for up to 4 guests and their clubs. This promotion is part of Uber Reserve, meaning that rides can be booked up to 90 days in advance. Additionally, Uber is partnering with TopGolf to offer Uber One members 20% off gameplay throughout the rest of the year. Read more here.
