Update On New Florida Tax Relief Packages

Over the next few months, Florida voters will be mulling over whether to support or oppose the upcoming property tax proposal looking to be placed on the 2026 state ballot.

But in the meantime, some new Florida tax changes have taken an effect to benefit consumers back pocket that was recently signed into law by Governor DeSantis.

With the public schools starting back up next month sometime between August 10 and August 13, 2026, depending on the county., new dates for the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday.

This year it starts next Monday July 20th and runs through August 20 for a whole month.

Excluding south Florida, archery will kick off the 2026-27 hunting season north of state road 70 to the Tallahassee area and the Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Sales Tax Holiday will run for 3 months from September 1 through December 31.

Online property listing platforms will be required to include estimated property taxes for any residential property listed on their platform. Other tax savings include:

A permanent sales tax exemption on propane tanks 20 pounds or less.

Sales tax refunds on of home hardening products, such as impact-resistant doors, windows and garage doors, purchased between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2029
