Gas prices continue to fall in Florida, reaching a three-month low, according to AAA.
AAA released a report showing the average gallon of gas in Florida cost $3.33 on Sunday, down 15 cents from the start of last week.
“The discount at the pump has largely been driven by falling oil prices,” said Mark Jenkins, a spokesman for AAA and the Auto Club Group. “However, the downward trend could stall soon. Ongoing geopolitical tensions allowed oil prices to regain some strength last week, though they remain below price levels we saw three weeks ago.”
AAA showcased changes in the price of crude oil.
“The U.S. price of crude oil settled at $87.69 per barrel Friday. That’s $4.90 per barrel (6 percent) more than the week before, but well below the $93/b highs we saw on September 27th. The increase came after The Group of Seven (G7) announced plans to provide financial assistance to Ukraine by tightening sanctions against Russia. The market is also uneasy about the Israel-Gaza conflict. On Sunday night, the price of oil was trending lower in overnight trading,” AAA noted.
The West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area had the most expensive gas in the state, with an average of $3.53 a gallon, followed by Naples at $3.49 a gallon and Tallahassee at $3.45 a gallon.
Pensacola had the least expensive gas in the state at $3.16 a gallon, followed by the Crestview-Fort Walton Beach area at $3.19 a gallon and Orlando at $3.25 a gallon.
