Adding These Features May Help You Sell Your Home

If you want to sell your home, you may want to make sure certain features are added.

That according to realtor Ohio Real Estate Source who says there’s growing demand for carports, offices and hardwood floors, all of which could increase your chance of selling your home.

Other items considered to be in-demand features were a basement or fireplace or living next or near to a community feature like nearby parks and tennis courts.

If your house overlooks a hill or mountain, lake or waterfront, buyers will be more likely to book a viewing.

But within the home itself, an elevator was the most popular searched on social media. Making apartments and multistory homes more accessible, buildings with an elevator are in high demand.

Home offices or ‘dens’ are second on the list, marking a post-pandemic change with more adults working from home.

Swimming pools, basements and fireplaces also drive up searches, alongside hardwood floors, carports and hot tubs.

Buyers are also keen to see energy efficient features in a potential home, including insulation, solar panels and LED lights. Accessibility features are also a priority, including wheelchair-accessible entrances and wide open-plan spaces.

“This study has shed light on the key features that could speed up the process of selling your home. If you already have a basement space or home office, these should be highlighted online in the listing, to draw buyers to book a showing and including references to the local amenities in your listing description can attract prospective buyers. Highlighting the view, or the accessibility of your space, could also help promote the listing and knowing what buyers are most keen to see in a property allows a seller to target their advertisements and listings accordingly, to make sure their home’s best features are visible,” said the report
