Democrats Outspending Republicans In State Races

The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) sent a memo showing the financial disparity between the GOP and Democrats in state legislative races.

“While we increased our investment in state legislative races this cycle from $38 million to $44 million, we are still outpaced by national Democrat groups such as the DLCC,” said the RSLC.

Republicans are looking to increase their majorities in several states. RSLC announced they had increased their investment in 2024 to $44 million, a $6 million increase from our original $38 million commitment. Despite the larger amount, Republicans are still being outpaced by Democrats by $175 million.

The RSLC told Florida Daily that with the combination of outside national liberal groups who have already combined to spend at least $69 million of traceable money across the country, these same liberal groups, along with Democrats, will most likely dump at least another $100 million, into key races between now and November 5th.

“We don’t want to look like 2022 all over again,” one GOP operative told Florida Daily.

The DLCC has pleaded with donors to donate around $26 million in the final weeks to flood the airwaves and deploy a last-minute push across battleground states.

“This is clearly what the Democrats did in 2022, and it overwhelmed us on the airwaves in the final weeks. We cannot let that happen again,” said the same operative.

Besides radio, Democrats are also targeting social media.

“We don’t expect to fully close the fundraising gap we face, but additional resources are still immediately needed to counter the opposition’s massive spending advantage in these final weeks to ensure we remain on course to defend our majorities and seize any and all opportunities to flip chambers still in reach,” said RSLC.
