Fatburger is ramping up its Florida presence in a big way. Parent company FAT Brands Inc. has announced a new development deal that will bring 40 new Fatburger locations to the state over the next decade, significantly expanding the burger chain’s footprint beyond its current locations in Celebration and Riverview.
The expansion comes through a new agreement with franchisee Whole Factor Inc., which previously signed a 14-restaurant deal focused on the Orlando and Tampa markets. The new plan includes a push into Jacksonville, with a location set to open later this year in Orange Park.
“Two years ago, Fatburger made its return to the state of Florida after a 20-year absence, and we are not looking back,” said Taylor Wiederhorn, co-CEO and chief development officer of FAT Brands. “Whole Factor is an excellent partner that understands what makes Fatburger such a unique, beloved brand.”
“We are excited to grow Fatburger across the state,” added Spike Singh, owner of Whole Factor Inc. “We’re eager to share Fatburger’s iconic menu and vibrant atmosphere with even more fans.”
Fatburger’s Comeback
Fatburger originally returned to Florida in 2023, when the Tampa location opened in Riverview on June 19. The Celebration restaurant near Orlando followed in February 2024. The company says both locations have outperformed expectations, thanks to strong local fan support.
What to Expect on the Menu
Fatburger, founded over 70 years ago in California, is known for:
- Hand-pressed beef patties
- Chili-covered burgers
- Hand-scooped milkshakes
- Onion rings made from scratch
The menu also includes turkey burgers, Impossible burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fat or skinny fries, catering to a wide variety of tastes.
FAT Brands acquired the Fatburger brand in the early 2000s and has been expanding its reach across more than a dozen states and multiple countries.
With 40 new locations planned, Fatburger is poised to become a more familiar name throughout Florida’s burger scene in the years to come.
