Five Job Groups That Coud be Negatively Affected by AI

Mark Cuban, the well-known billionaire from the hit show Shark Tank and one of the owners of the Dallas Mavericks, warns that AI (Artificial Intelligence) could harm certain job sectors in the U.S.

Cuban lays out the 5 job descriptions that could be impacted by AI

WHITE-COLLAR ENTRY-LEVEL POSITIONS

Cubans believe these jobs are the most vulnerable, as they are being replaced by humans entering data, a task AI can perform faster.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

According to Cuban, AI-assisted coding tools are now widely used, which will most likely reduce the rate of certain programming features, and system design and problem-solving are expected to become more important, making entry-level positions harder to come by.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Cuban says customer service is like everything else on the list. Why have more people when AI-powered chatbots and voice systems are currently controlling the market?

Cuban points out that many companies are already expanding their automation capacity in this arena. This leads to less expansion and a reduced need to hire workers and support staff.

DATA ANALYSIS and RESEARCH

Most of these positions are already seeing automation replace humans. Cuban notes that AI tools can simplify data, generate reports, and identify trends, areas where human analysts may no longer be needed.

FINANCE and LEGAL JOBS

Analysts have said AI could replace a lot of these jobs in the country.

Simple me like reviewing documents, basic accounting functions already being used in automation.

Though it sounds like the sky is falling, not really, says Cuban. He doesn’t believe the job market is going to collapse anytime soon.

Cuban advises employers and workers to adapt and to learn how to use AI and its tools.

Cuban says the jobs market could benefit those working for smaller companies than much larger firms that already employ AI.
