The Florida Chamber Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability convened more than 600 business leaders and sought-after national experts to continue positioning Florida as the safest, healthiest, and most sustainable state in the country. The fourth annual Leadership Conference focused on three essential areas to further secure Florida’s future: Workplace Safety, Health (with a focus on Mental Health), and Sustainability.
“I am beyond proud of the Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet for creating the nation’s only conference of its kind, dedicated to helping business leaders and companies move the needle on safety, health and sustainability,” said Katie Yeutter, President of the Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health and Sustainability. “Through collaboration and innovative solutions, the Leadership Cabinet is committed to fostering a thriving business environment while prioritizing the mental health and well-being of our workforce, communities, and environment.”
With an elevated focus on sharing best practices, the Florida Chamber is the premier go-to resource for businesses ready to make Florida the nation’s model for workplace safety, health and sustainability and grow Florida to a top 10 global economy by 2030. The newest resource for business leaders is the “Making Florida the National Leader for Mental Health and Well-Being” research report. This report outlines 25 mental health recommendations across four domains: workforce solutions, upstream solutions for youth through early detection and intervention, public health system modernization, and veterans and first responders.
The Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health and Sustainability also unveiled a new program in collaboration with HeatGuardian™, an advanced heat stress monitoring system. HeatGuardian was co-developed by SmartCone and Greg Hale, Vice President and Chief Safety Officer for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet Advisory Board Member, focused on making working conditions safer across a variety of career fields and locations.

“On behalf of CITY Furniture, I am proud to be a part of the Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet’s Health Council unveiling of the nation’s first business-led mental health initiative, aligning the Florida 2030 Blueprint goal for making Florida a top five state for overall well-being,” said George Zamora, Senior Director of People and Safety, Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet Advisory Board Member and a member of the Florida Chambers Health Council. “Improving mental health in the workforce requires a collective effort.
