Universal Studios to Temporarily Close Two Popular Rides, Disney Announces New Cruise Ship’s Theme

Disney Cruise Line Revealed the name and theme of its next ship, sailing in 2025.

The Disney Destiny, which is the sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will feature a unique design theme called “Heroes and Villains”. This theme will draw inspiration from popular Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions. When onboard, guests can expect to come across both heroes and villains from famous Walt Disney Animation tales such as “The Lion King,” “Hercules,” and “101 Dalmatians.” These characters will be present in various spaces, experiences, and entertainment throughout their voyage.es, characters, and theme park attractions.

E.T. Adventure and Revenge of the Mummy Closing for Short Refurbishments Later This Year

Universal Orlando Resort has announced that its longest-standing original attraction, the E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Florida, will close for a brief refurbishment from May 5th through May 16th. Universal also announced that the Revenge of the Mummy ride will be closed for maintenance from June 17, 2024, until June 22, 2024.

Neon nights return at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon with H20 Glow After Hours

One of Disney’s water parks is bringing back a popular summertime event. Typhoon Lagoon‘s H20 Glow After Hours will start on May 25. The event runs 18 select nights through Aug. 31 until 11 p.m. The park’s after-hours party is a beach party with radiant lighting effects, vibrant decor, and DJ dance parties. 

While the “glowing” part of the event officially begins at 8 p.m., guests with tickets can get a head start on the fun by entering the park at 6 p.m. on event nights.

New this year, cabanas will be available to rent online for groups looking for a private, reserved area during the event.

Other party festivities include:

  • Complimentary ice cream treats, popcorn, and soda
  • Complimentary towel rental
  • Surprise character appearances
  • Exclusive glow-themed food and beverage items

Tickets for the event go on sale March 22. Pre-sale is available to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests on March 19.
