Former state Rep. Adam Hatterlsey announced this week that he will run for the Democratic nomination to challenge state CFO Jimmy Patronis in November.
“Today, I am proud to announce my candidacy to be Florida’s next Chief Financial Officer,” Hattersley announced. “Floridians deserve a CFO who will fight for them. They deserve a CFO who will stand up to insurance companies. They deserve a CFO who is consumer focused and not consumed by partisan politics. I pledge to be that CFO. I will represent you, the people of Florida, and not special interests.”
The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) offered its take on the new candidate on Wednesday.
“While CFO Jimmy Patronis has fought alongside Governor Ron DeSantis to keep Florida open and free, Democrat candidate for Florida’s CFO, Adam Hattersley, advocated for lockdowns and mandates like the mandatory masking of children and the closing of beaches and businesses,” the RPOF noted. “Adam Hattersley has opposed Governor DeSantis at every turn and supports draconian mandates. He is not a friend to our hard-working business community. If you have a family, run a business, work for a business or love that Florida is free and open, you aren’t going to like ‘Lockdown Adam.’”
