Kamala Harris’ campaign team reported that they have received more than 14,500 new volunteer registrations in Florida, the most of any state.
“People are very excited. There’s a great deal of energy around the campaign, and we have had more people volunteering to work on the campaign,” said Democratic State Sen. Geraldine Thompson, a surrogate for the campaign.
Despite the nation-leading volunteer figures, Republicans still tout nearly one-million more registered voters than Democrats in Florida, home of the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.
Florida Gov Ron DeSantis downplayed Harris’ odds on social media, saying “Kamala has no chance in the Sunshine State.”
I really hope Harris spends/wastes a lot of time and resources in Florida.

Two state amendments on social issues could improve Democratic turnout, with abortion and recreational marijuana legalization and abortion law reform on the vote.
“He wants to present as if it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy that Florida is red, Florida is not in play,” Thompson said. “But when people have individuals that they are excited about that address their particular issues, you see people becoming engaged who have not been engaged before.”
