Florida State Attorney Melissa Nelson endorsed Clarence James for School Board District 6. To open up the qualifying week, Clarence has received the largest endorsement from Nassau, Clay, and Duval County, with the top law enforcement coming out for him. Historically, I believe this is the first time Melissa Nelson has endorsed anyone for public office. With the qualifying week starting today, it will be very difficult to stop this amount of momentum, with the support he has built on both sides of the aisle. Melissa stated, “Clarence James has dedicated his career to serving Jacksonville as a Navy veteran and public servant. I have known Clarence for many
years and know him to be committed to doing what is best for our community. His experience and sound judgement will be an asset to the Duval County School Board. I am proud to endorse Clarence James for School Board District 6 and encourage voters in the Westside to support his campaign.”
Clarence James has the additional endorsements of:
- Fraternal Order of Police Jacksonville Firefighters
- State Rep Wyman Duggan
- Sheriff Scotty Rhoden
- Council President Kevin Carrico
- Chairman Mike Hightower
- Council Member Will Lahnen
- Council Member Rory Diamond
- Former Council President Alberta Hipps
- Former Council Member Pat Lockett-Felder
