John Walsh Will Keynote Ashley Moody’s 2023 Human Trafficking Summit

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced last week that John Walsh will be the keynote speaker for the 2023 Human Trafficking Summit.

As a nationally renowned crime fighter, victims advocate and host of the former hit television show America’s Most Wanted, Walsh spent decades seeking missing children and justice for crime victims. Walsh’s extensive career in television helped law enforcement recover more than 50 missing children.

“I am thrilled to announce John Walsh as the 2023 Human Trafficking Summit keynote speaker. His tenacious pursuit in solving crime and finding missing children is unparalleled, as is his ability to provide a voice to victims who might otherwise have gone unheard. Mr. Walsh’s presence as the keynote speaker will undoubtedly inspire and motivate Floridians to continue the fight to end human trafficking,” said Moody.

“I am excited to keynote the 2023 Florida Human Trafficking Summit and help Attorney General Moody raise awareness about this horrific crime. I have dedicated my career to locating missing children and protecting the vulnerable. You can join us on this important mission to make Florida a zero-tolerance state for human trafficking by registering to attend the summit this fall,” said Walsh.

John and wife Revé Walsh tragically lost their son Adam in July 1981. A kidnapper abducted six-year-old Adam Walsh from a mall near the Walsh’s home and murdered the child. Since then, the Walsh family carried on Adam’s memory by fighting for victims’ rights and helping found the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 1984.

NCMEC runs a toll-free hotline and, since being founded, has fielded more than 5 million calls nationwide. The nonprofit organization is also responsible for circulating billions of photos of missing children and assisting law enforcement in the recovery of more than 376,000 missing children.

The 2023 Human Trafficking Summit launches Tuesday, Oct. 3, and aims to bring together key stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, survivors, victim service providers and advocates to collaborate, learn and strengthen our efforts to combat this heinous crime.
