Liberals have come out with new election conspiracies surrounding President Trump.
The President has said he may use the Insurrection Act to send military troops to some cities to clamp down on crime and help protect ICE agents from being attacked by protestors.
MSNBC host Katy Tur (and her team) throw out a few conspiracies that President Trump isn’t sending troops to help lower crime in communities, but instead looking to subvert the upcoming elections by taking control.
“We are seeing him (Trump) deploy troops to American cities. He might not have to specifically deploy them to polling places. In some scenarios, they might already be there as he argues there to fight crime in the light,” said Tur.
One of Tur’s guests was David Graham, a staff writer at The Atlantic. He went further than the MSNBC host stating that Trumps military actions could turn away and suppress voters from even showing up at the polls.
“The law prevents calling out troops or armed men in general, according to the language, to the polls. But if you put those people (troops) in the streets already, you’re gonna have troops already there by the time the election rolls around,” Graham said.
Graham says the sight of troops in some cities could intimidate some voters from staying home from the polls.
“It might also be the kind of thing that simply creates hassles. It makes it very hard to get around because they are roadblocks and there’s heavy equipment, and there are all these things, and suddenly getting to the polls and casting your vote is gonna just take too long, and you’re not gonna vote. So even these things that aren’t major intimidation can start to suppress the vote,” said Graham.
