Inflation at the grocery store remains a key issue, according to recent survey data from Rassmusen Reports.
Four out of five Americans say they’re paying more at the grocery store, and most say inflation has changed how they eat.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 80% of American Adults say they’re paying more for groceries now than they were a year ago, nearly unchanged from July. Only 12% now say they aren’t paying more for groceries.
Fifty-nine percent (59%) say rising food prices have caused them to change their eating habits – slightly down from 62% in July – while 35% have not changed the way they eat because of inflation.
The survey of 1,181 American Adults was conducted on September 26 and 29-30, 2024 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
