Robert Burns, Editor in Chief of Left-Leaning Florida News Website, Indicted by Feds for Wire Fraud

Florida State House Rep. Randy Fine (R) announced that Robert W. Burns, a political consultant who also serves as editor-in-chief of The Space Coast Rocket in Brevard County has been indicted on three counts of wire fraud.

Fine’s social post with the announcement was supported by reports from Florida Today newspaper (Not associated with FloridaDaily.com) and SpaceCoastDaily.com, which also posted scanned images of the indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

According to the indictments, Burns is accused of knowingly submitting false and fraudulent PPP loan applications to receive over $57,186 in COVID “CARES ACT” funds, then using the funds for gambling and cryptocurrency purchases instead of using the appropriated funds for his company payroll.
