Ron DeSantis Announces Funds for Transitional Housing for Veterans Recovering From Substance Abuse

At the end of last week, while marking how the state government helps veterans, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $1.5 million “to provide transitional housing for Floridians and veterans recovering from substance abuse through the Recovery Housing Program (RHP).”

With Friday being Veterans Day, DeSantis insisted that Florida was the best state for veterans and noted that more than 1.5 million of them live in the Sunshine State.

“Florida’s veterans have made countless sacrifices to protect our freedoms, and in return we are working hard to ensure they have the resources and support they need to be successful and take care of their families,” said DeSantis. “My administration will continue to invest in our veterans in the same way that they made sacrifices to invest in the freedom of our nation.”

The funds DeSantis announced, “includes relocation payments, rental assistance, new construction, acquisition, and/or rehabilitation of housing facilities.”
