TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced six arrests following “Operation Summer Hurricane,” a multi-agency undercover sting targeting online child predators in North Florida.
The three-night operation, conducted July 10–12, was the first of its kind in Franklin County and involved the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Second Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, and the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
Uthmeier said the arrests demonstrate Florida’s commitment to protecting children. “Six predators, including one illegal alien, who targeted Florida children were caught and will face prosecution,” he said. FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass and Franklin County Sheriff A.J. “Tony” Smith praised the teamwork behind the operation, noting the dedication of investigators and analysts who helped bring the suspects into custody.
The individuals arrested include:
- Colbey G. Adams – charged with solicitation of a minor, harmful communication with a minor, unlawful use of a communication device, and related counts.
- Jarvis Arteza Baker Jr. – charged with attempted human trafficking of a minor, traveling to meet a minor, and additional driving-related offenses.
- William Jared Breski – arrested twice on charges including failure to register, solicitation of a minor, transmission of obscene material, and harmful communication.
- Joshua Heath Lolley – charged with traveling to meet a minor and misuse of a communication device.
- Christopher Edward Nabors – charged with traveling to meet a minor, transmission of harmful material, and misuse of a communication device.
- Jose De Jesus Salazar Gomez – charged with traveling to meet a minor and misuse of a communication device.
HSI agents confirmed Gomez is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico and placed a deportation detainer on him. Authorities said two additional suspects remain at large, and all cases are under active investigation.
Officials urged the public to report suspected child exploitation to local law enforcement or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
