A story in the Orlando Business Journal reports that PopStroke, a mini-golf and dining concept backed by Tiger Woods, is delaying the opening of its highly anticipated location on International Drive in Orlando. Initially scheduled to debut in 2025, the venue is now aiming for a fall 2026 opening, according to a company spokesperson.
The company has recently submitted a construction permit request to the South Florida Water Management District for the 5.13-acre property located at 8580 International Drive. Currently, this site houses a 52,000-square-foot retail center and is situated directly across from Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf. The plans for the PopStroke development include a 17,852-square-foot restaurant and two 18-hole mini-golf courses. Additionally, a 7,300-square-foot building near the parking lot is set to accommodate a Dune Dog restaurant, a hot dog chain based in Jupiter, Florida.
Site renderings also indicate the inclusion of an outdoor bar and other entertainment-focused amenities. The I-Drive property is owned by an entity affiliated with Miami’s Orion Real Estate Group.
PopStroke’s mini-golf venues are renowned for their realistic course designs, which mimic traditional golf layouts complete with sand traps, tall grass, and other challenging features. Each location also features a full-service restaurant and bar, an ice cream parlor, a playground, and on-course drink delivery.
The brand, co-owned by Woods’ TGR Ventures, has been expanding steadily. It currently operates eight locations across Florida, including one at Waterford Lakes Town Center and another in Daytona Beach. A new venue is set to open this August in the Hamlin Town Center area of Horizon West.
Nationwide, PopStroke has a total of 17 locations in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Alabama, and South Carolina. Future expansion plans include a site in Nashville expected to open in 2026, which will feature two indoor 18-hole courses and one outdoor course.
PopStroke’s growth aligns with the rising interest in golf. The National Golf Foundation reported that 28 million Americans played on golf courses in 2024, marking the most significant annual increase in participation since 2000. Total golf engagement, including off-course experiences such as Topgolf, increased to 47.2 million.
Experts attribute the sport’s ongoing popularity to the accessibility of off-course options and the surge of interest that began during the COVID-19 pandemic.
