A new study by the vehicle performance data provider 0-60 Specs has revealed the most-Googled car brands in Florida, with Toyota and Tesla coming out on top.
Florida’s top car brands were Toyota, then Tesla, with Ford in third, followed by Honda and Mercedes-Benz.
Besides Florida, the analysis examined average monthly search volumes over the past year for 105 vehicle manufacturers across all 50 states to determine the most popular automotive trends, with Toyota and Tesla leading in many states.
“Consumers still like their traditional automakers like Toyota, Ford, and Honda continuing their relevance and popularity among American consumers,” said the report.
The data indicates a growing interest in electric vehicles, with Tesla featuring prominently in search rankings across various states. This suggests increasing consumer curiosity and consideration for electric cars.
Another reason why Tesla has become a popular buy in Florida is from President Trump, who said he was buying a Tesla to show loyalty to company CEO Elon Musk.
Even with gas prices coming down somewhat, consumers are still looking for the best automobile to save money on fuel at the pump.
“These search trends offer valuable insight into consumer interests and shifting preferences in the automotive industry. The high search volumes for brands like Toyota and Tesla reflect a blend of reliability and innovation that resonates with drivers today. Understanding these patterns can help manufacturers and dealers meet the evolving needs of their customers,’ said Emir Bacic, owner of 0-60 Specs.
Bacic says one reason for Tesla’s popularity, beyond its attractive sustainability-focused business model, is that consumers may have heard Tesla’s share price has steadily decreased since early 2025. They may be waiting for new deals or promotions as the company seeks to increase sales.”
