Earlier this summer, a major survey revealed that Epic Universe has already boosted tourism to Florida, and NBC will soon provide a a closer look at the theme park.
NBC will air Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe, a one-hour television special, on Wednesday, August 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The program will also be available for streaming on Peacock starting August 21.
The special offers an in-depth look at Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, which officially opened in May 2025. Viewers will be taken on a journey through all five immersive lands—Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. The special showcases the technology, attractions, and design elements that bring these worlds to life.
Hosted by Joe Manganiello of Deal or No Deal Island, the special includes appearances from a wide range of celebrities. Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers offer their commentary, while Mason Thames and Nico Parker, stars of the upcoming How to Train Your Dragon live-action film, provide insights into the Isle of Berk. Warwick Davis of the Harry Potter franchise, Bryce Dallas Howard, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, and director Jon M. Chu also make appearances. The program features an extended interview with Steven Spielberg, who serves as a creative consultant for Universal Destinations & Experiences, discussing the vision and artistry behind Epic Universe.
NBCUniversal executive Jen Neal described Epic Universe as a “first-of-its-kind theme park” that merges popular characters and storytelling with immersive, real-world experiences. Manganiello’s enthusiasm highlights the park’s ambitious scope, from thrilling attractions in the Dark Universe to soaring adventures with dragons.
Later this year, Peacock will release a three-part companion docuseries titled Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks, offering a deeper look into Universal’s evolution and the development of Epic Universe.
