Heritage Insurance to Join Industry Leaders, Sponsors Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies Conference to Support Independent Agents

Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance Company is proud to continue its support of the independent agent community as a sponsor of the 55th Annual Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies (LAAIA) Convention, an event that brings together agency owners, carriers, and insurance professionals from across Florida. As a sponsor, Heritage will be on-site to connect with agents, share updates on its homeowners offerings, and reinforce its long-standing commitment to local, independent partnerships. A key moment at the event will be the naming of Al Mendez as President of LAAIA for the next two years. Heritage congratulates Mendez on this achievement and looks forward to supporting him in this new role.

Ernie Garateix, CEO of Heritage Insurance, said, “Heritage is excited to attend the LAAIA Annual Conference to learn, listen, and reconnect with industry leaders and agents. Independent agents play a critical role in our industry, guiding policyholders and advocating for their needs. We view our relationships with agents as true partnerships, built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to serving communities across Florida. Events like this give us a valuable opportunity to strengthen those ties and continue improving how we work together. We also congratulate Al Mendez on being named LAAIA President, a well-earned recognition of his leadership.”

For over 50 years, LAAIA has championed education, legislative advocacy, and mentorship, working to strengthen the independent agent community and support the growth of the insurance industry. This annual convention is one of the largest gatherings of insurance professionals in the region, offering opportunities for connection, collaboration, and continuing education.

As Florida’s insurance market continues to shift, Heritage remains focused on providing stable, responsive coverage through a network of trusted, independent professionals. By investing in agent relationships, refining product offerings, and staying agile in a changing regulatory landscape, Heritage is committed to long-term partnership and service.
